The Perino family held their 51st Annual Horse Sale June 7 at the Weston County Fairgrounds
in Newcastle, WY. Matt, Donna and the Perino family along with many consignors came to
town with an awful nice set of horses. The horses included finished heel horses to several great
rodeo prospect horses that were started right and showed well during the ranch horse competition.
Several of these horses were arena ready whether you wanted a breakaway, pole, barrel, heading,
heeling, steer wrestling or a great sound gentle ranch horse. Perino’s and consignors had these
horses ready for the buyers. There was a great crowd on hand for the ranch horse competition
and it grew larger at sale time.
There were 69 horses consigned with six states represented at the sale and ranch horse competition.
Taking the competition was Lot 4, Photo Radar, a buckskin gelding born 5/9/99. Owned by Matt
and Donna Perino, this was an outstanding heel horse that just performed well in the arena.

Lot 47, Shaddow, took second in the competition. This gray gelding born in 1998 was consigned
by Marvin and JoAnn Gorsuch and is a horse that can be used in the arena or on the ranch.

The top selling horse of the sale went to Lot 9X, Doc Bar Black Burn, born in 2002 and consigned
by Matt and Donna Perino. This very athletic gelding suitable for the arena or ranch sold for $4,700.
Selling next was Lot 51, El Tigre, a sorrel gelding born in 2004. Lambert Ranch consigned this
very tough and young horse which sold for $3,800.
Third high seller was Lot 63, Paco, a palomino gelding born in 2002. Matt Matlick consigned
this horse that stood 15.3 hands at 1,250 pounds. This horse with lots of muscle and good bone
sold for $3,600.
Selling next was Lot 55, Captain Drift, a bay gelding born 5/20/03 and consigned by Mark Matlick.
The gelding showed well in the arena as he had a great start as a heading horse. Captain Drift sold
for $3,500.
